Write-Out on the Edge
DATE: Sunday, March 15, 2026 TIME: 10:00am - 2:00pm LOCATION: Belltown, Seattle COST: FREE! REGISTRATION DEADLINE: Fri., Mar. 13, 2026 With all the insanity going on in the world lately, especially all the problems with ice, it can be difficult to focus on creative writing projects, or justify spending the time on them. But sometimes, that's exactly what we need to destress, recharge, and find some sense of normalcy.
So, our first event of 2026 is a FREE one, for anyone feeling a little on edge and needs to take a break from all the terrible news, get reacquainted with their writing, and find comfort, inspiration, and commaraderie among fellow creative writers. The weather is still a little chilly and unpredictable as we emerge from hibernation right on the edge between winter and spring, so instead of going out into nature, we will appreciate it from inside the cozy, nature-themed lounge of the Edgewater Hotel. The space has comfy seats, a fireplace, and a variety of tables, right on the edge of the water, offering a serene setting with spectacular views of Puget Sound. Grab a warm beverage from the hotel's Brim Coffeeshop, and spend some time with your work in progress and fellow writers! Supplies will be on hand for a variety of optional art activities and writing prompts to help shift your focus and get into a state of flow. We'll start the session with a meet & greet, then a brief discussion of how and why to use art as meditation to boost creativity and productivity, and the many other benefits of simple art activities. |
