Event Details
:

The theme of this mini writing & yoga retreat is Narrative Transportation. We'll start at the downtown Seattle Ferry terminal for a meet & greet, instructions, orientation, and workshop, where you'll learn:
  • what Narrative Transportation is
  • why it's important in storytelling
  • & how to achieve it on the page.
Then we'll board the Bremerton ferry for a customized yoga session specially designed for writers to open, clear, and focus their energy to tap into emotions and help create authentic scenes that will transport readers into the experience of the story. (No yoga supplies necessary.)

On the hour-long ferry, you'll also have the opportunity to put these lessons into practice with a timed, focused writing session, with the added inspiration of views of
Puget Sound and the surrounding islands and mountains, and in the company of other local writers.

In Bremerton, we'll walk to a nearby park for some outdoor writing (weather dependent), then have free time to explore the town, get some lunch, grab a coffee, or do more writing. On the ferry back to Seattle, we'll have one final check-in and writing session together.

The price of this event includes:
  • round-trip walk-on ferry ticket from Seattle to Bremerton
  • writing workshop taught by editor & book coach Lynn Post
  • embodied movement & yoga session led by Kristin Edie
  • Plein-Air Prose vinyl logo sticker
  • supplies for creative meditation and writing exercises (taught in workshop)

Participants will be responsible for any food or beverage purchases during the event, or feel free to bring your own lunch and/or snacks.
